CALIFORNIA GREEN INDUSTRY
COUNCIL RECOGNIZES HAP KELLOGG FOR LEADERSHIP
SACRAMENTO, CA- March 13, 2006 The California Green Industry
Council (CGIC) is pleased to announce that at the most recent meeting,
the board of directors recognized H. Clay (Hap) Kellogg IV for
eight years of leadership as CGIC president.
“Since 1997, Hap’s leadership has helped CGIC improve our visibility
among the regulatory and legislative community in California,” said
newly elected president Larry Rohlfes of California Landscape Contractors
Association. “Hap’s contributions to the industry, both personally
and professionally have benefited all those who have had the opportunity
to work with him. This recognition is just a small token of the
appreciation felt by his green industry colleagues.”
Rohlfes presented Kellogg a plaque reading: “Leadership Award-In
recognition of your vision, stewardship and dedication to the California
Green Industry Council during your presidency 1997-2005.
Kellogg is president of Kellogg Garden Products, a family business
selling horticultural products, soil amendments and fertilizer
products to the home, landscape, and nursery markets in California
and throughout the West. Kellogg embodies the company’s values
of integrity, innovation, loyalty, experience, commitment and generosity. A
graduate of the University of Wyoming, Kellogg holds a bachelor’s
degree in Agricultural Business and has been at the helm of Kellogg
Garden Products since 1991.
The Green Industry is not a collection of environmental activist
groups, rather all the people, products and businesses that grow,
build, maintain and sell the plants that make up California's landscapes,
also known as green infrastructure. This includes those who grow
the flat of pansies you buy at the local nursery to the people
who trim street trees and mow lawns for a living.
The new data will be used to update a CGIC publication entitled The
Economic Impact of the California Green Industry, one of
a trio of research and education brochures regarding the green
industry. The other brochures Landscape—An Investment in
California’s Communities and The Environmental Benefits
of the Landscape—Our Green Urban Ecosystem Today outline
specific economic and environmental contributions made possible
by California’s green industry professionals. All titles are
available in electronic format from www.cgic.org
